Having worked very closely and having been involved in the Marketing Programs for numerous Builders over the past twenty (20) years, Gary Roberts understood that there was a void in the marketplace for the consumer. For the past four (4) years, being President of the Guelph, Ontario- based Integrated Marketing Incorporated, he has been constantly reminding his clients to make sure all information in regards to their Inventory Homes was readily available to clients that were looking for the opportunity to move into a new home, but had a tight deadline that they needed to meet. He was constantly reinforcing the message that the most efficient location for all of this information was on their websites. “Consumers are constantly looking for the opportunity to buy a Builders Model home that has become available for sale, or they find themselves working within a much tighter deadline, and cannot adhere to a normal timeline for building a new home.  My experience taught me that a number of our clients, plus the industry in general, builds “Inventory Homes”, which allow the builder to meet this segment of the market”.
But what if an individual was moving across the country, or even 15 minutes away?  How could that person find out what homes are available to them?  Well, consumers could drive around and visit individual builders model homes, or work with a realtor to find out if the builder has listed the home for sale in this manner. Roberts thought there had to be a better way to bring the Buyer together with the Builder, and the Builder together with the Buyer....
This was the genesis and the birth of a new website http://www.finsihedhomes.ca/
Roberts explains, “what finishedhomes .ca will do, is allow consumers to go to one website and search model homes, as well as Builder Inventory homes that are for sale. The site will be a searchable database of homes that are currently available for sale by builders.  You will be able to plug in your simple search criteria of:  CITY... PRICE RANGE, FULLY DETACHED, CONDOMINIUMS, etc., and the homes that fall into that category will populate for you, allowing the consumer to save a lot of travel time, while allowing the builders to post in one location, and and all homes they have for sale.
Armed with this information that they can collect from the comfort of their homes, the consumer can then contact the respective builder that may have a home that they are interested in and meets their criteria.
“I noticed, surprisingly enough, that there was not one location on the web where a buyer could go to collect this information and begin a home buyer search,” Roberts continues. I had been constantly reminding clients to have this information on their respective websites, now I thought why not have one website where the consumer could visit and see all that is on the market, so we began the research component to see if builders thought that this was a good idea...because I knew the buyer could use it.
After talking to a large cross section of builders, we were met with a 100% acceptance rate, so we registered a simple domain to remember finishedhomes and began building the site.
Now builders can meet buyers and buyers can meet builders, all in one location www.finishedhomes.ca
